Greenwood Chamber and Greenwood Public Library will host

 Local Government Reception

Event will give community members a chance to learn more about their local officials.

Greater Greenwood Chamber of Commerce and Greenwood Public Library will unite local government officials and their constituents during the Local Government Reception held at 7 p.m. on July 30 at the Greenwood Public Library, 310 S. Meridian Street.

A new event for the Chamber, the reception is the perfect opportunity for the community to meet and learn about local government officials from southern Marian and northern Johnson Counties as well as the three school corporation boards that serve the area:  Greenwood,Center Grove and Clark-Pleasant.

“The Chamber hosts a successful legislative breakfast series during the Indiana General Assembly for the community to meet state legislators.  We see this as an opportunity to better serve the community by giving them a chance to learn about local government,” sad Christian Maslowski, executive director of the Greater Greenwood Chamber.

Endress + Hauser, Inc. is sponsoring the Local Government Reception.  The gathering is a way for the business community to network and forge new partnerships with local government agencies.

“This event is a great opportunity for the business community and local officials to foster relationships,” said Greenwood City Councilor Monica Magna-Rees.

Individuals may pay in advance for $7 or at the door for $10.  Refreshments will be provided.  To register, call the Greater Greenwood Chamber of Commerce office at 317-888-4856
