City Council repetitive “Yays”
One Councilman stands above others
Mayor Show’s poor etiquette
During the past council meeting the city council elect seemed to be lost in the world of legislation. They sat with glaring eyes listening as ordinance abatement after ordinance abatement was read. Without an apparent clue as to what was happening, roll call produced the echo of “Yay, yay, Yay….yay”. Questions were not of interest and the council seems to think its job is to pass ordinances without knowing what they are.
With the exception of Bruce Armstrong who had many questions to Pat Sherman who was representing the abatement summaries, no other
councilperson demonstrated the ability to care if the petitioners were fulfilling their agreements.
An interesting event
did take place during one such reading. Bruce Armstrong city councilman thinks that companies who make promises should be willing
to back up those promises with action or a reasonable excuse as to why they have failed to do so.
The Mayor seemed to
think that Pat Sherman was beyond reprimand and made a really feeble and pathetic attempt to chide Armstrong. The Mayor should remember
that he is not God and has no place trying to control the city council. He has plenty of rubber stamps and that should serve he adequately.
Additionally Mayor Henderson has let more than one ordinance pass through the cracks without the public being fully apprised of the
situation, like the constant redesigning of poorly designed road contracts that he approves. Mr. Mayor apparently seems you may have
lost some sense of etiquette.
For any councilperson that has the intelligence to think on their own, they should
be applauded. Bruce Armstrong is like a lone crusader in a sea of rubber stamps. He alone looks at records and asks intelligent questions
for the purpose of serving the citizens whom elected him. He does not put on a front for the public and he does not serve as a rubber
stamp for Henderson. Not one other Councilperson so far has demonstrated the ability that they campaign to be on the council to this
point, and proved that they can think without rubber-stamping the Mayors wishes. That especially holds for one veteran who lives close
to the city building who has been Henderson’s Yes Man far to long.
Bruce Armstrong is not like some on the council,
he actually uses his brain and thinks for himself and not a “Yes Man” for Henderson. Henderson is seemingly is trying to be a tyrant
ruler over the council and he resents Armstrong willingness to work for the citizens, and that he cannot get Armstrong to be a rubber
stamp.
The poor veteran souls who have served for several years as rubberstamps have apparently spoil Mayor Henderson.
Armstrong is a thorn in Henderson’s side and his apparent sidekick Ron Deer. Kudos’ to Bruce Armstrong and please, keep up the work. Do not forget why you were elected, and for Goodness sake, do not catch Pedestalities. Some of the elected persons seem to think they are above others because they sat upon their thrones. They forgot who put them there and more importantly … why. For some strange reason they think they serve Mayor Henderson and not the citizens?
As an added note it is important to know that a lot
of so-called leaders & board members in this city confess to be Christians. Those of you who are stupid enough to whisper behind
the backs of others you are only showing your lack of intelligence and the only person laughing at your pathetic jokes are the one
person sitting next to you (to humor you). You additionally are proving that you are a “Sunday Christian” and a “Monday Hypocrite”
because Christians do not talk about others behind their backs like busy bodies. True Christians either keeps their mouths shut rather
than score someone or say what they have to say to someone’s face. That is especially important for councilpersons, board members,
committee members and city department leaders.
