Primetime Book Club

Come join a diverse group of book-a-holics at Greenwood Public Library for lively discussion, refreshments, and lots of laughter! We meet on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30.  All are welcome.  March's Book:  Little Giant of Aberdeen County by Tiffany Baker.


Knot Tying Basics

March 18  6pm
Gary Summers will present a Basic Knot Tying class in Community Room A. Gary is a member of the International Guild of Knot Tyers and has over 20 years experience teaching knot tying.  This class will cover a few basic knot techniques, including: overhand knots, figure eight knots and square knots and more.  There is a fee of $2 to cover supplies and handouts, which will be collected the night of the class. Call 885-5036 or go to www.greenwoodlibrary.us to register.

Nurturing Your Health:  Learn to Relax with Qigong
March 23  6:30pm
Qigong is an ancient Chinese practice (less physical than Tai Chi), uses mental focus, breath, and gentle movements to bring about a state of relaxation. Small Business Series - Small Business Disaster Planning

March 24  1:00-4:00pm

How quickly your business can bounce back from a man-made or natural disaster depends on the amount of emergency planning that you do today. We will discuss the key steps that an entrepreneur should take to plan in advance to manage an emergency situation, and review the resources that are available to take care of you and your employees, as well as speed up the recovery of your business.
Presented by the Indiana Small Business Development Center.  Cost $20.00

 

Dining with Diabetes Series
March 24 - April 13  10:00am - 12:30pm

Hip to Knit
April 6  5:30-7:30pm
All ages and experience levels welcome. Experienced knitters: bring your current project and knit in the company of others. Beginners: bring a pair of needles & we'll get started learning how to cast on and knit away!  This free knitting club meets first Tuesday of every month!

CPR Training
April 22  5:30pm
This CPR class is conducted through the American Heart Association and is a certified 3-hour Heartsaver course covering Adult, Child, & Infant CPR and choking. A certification card, good for two years, will be issued to all students who pass the written and practical exams. The cost is $8.75 for materials. Please bring the fee the night of class. Rex Saltsgaver, a Greenwood Police Detective, will provide the training for free.

Killer Antiques: What's It Worth? You Be the Judge

April 24  10:00am

Jane Cleland, author of the Josie Prescott Antiques Mystery series will present at Greenwood Public Library. This highly interactive, fun, free program challenges attendees to answer the questions "What information do you need to appraise it?" and "What else do you want to know?" In the process the nuances of the antiques appraisal process are explained and discussed. Small Business Series:  Business Feasibility & Basic Start Up Steps

April 28  1-4pm

Can I Make Money Doing This and How Do I Start?  The prospective small business owner needs to determine if his or her idea makes good business sense. This three-hour seminar will help you to estimate the financial feasibility of your business idea and make an informed decision about whether or not your idea is practical. Teen Advisory Board

American Girls Club: Victory Gardens

When Molly was a girl, having a garden gave people a sense of purpose and made more food available to soldiers who were away at war.
