Discussing plans for the Old Town Greenwood Street Fair.

The Old Town Association met this week and had its usual preparation for the street fair. The fair is going as planned and all is as it should be, almost.

Participation is down as well as sponsors and volunteers in kid’s entertainment. For every year that the street fair is put on the OTA  (Old Town Association) takes our children in their hearts and tries to make sure entertainment is present for them. That includes fun and crafts, which requires adult supervision. This year is no different and the OTA could use volunteers to help in this area. If you are interested call the OTA, contact information is at the end of this article.

Booth space is still available for those interested in setting up a booth and being a part of these years fair. This is a great opportunity to get to know some of your local business, friends and neighbors. Grab a booth ASAP and prepare to set-up your pop-up tent or just a table or maybe a food cart, craft or whatever.

The street fair is happening this year. Hopefully the Greenwood citizens will schedule The Greenwood Annual Street Fair into their plans for this important weekend.

The OTA does a lot of work in Greenwood old town. The beautiful Christmas tree you enjoy every year is the product of the OTA. The (24) Christmas wreaths you see hanging Downtown are also another one of their products. The street fair of course is also a big product; all paid for by the OTA and NOT tax dollars from the city.

Which for those who may be interested, the OTA has received the new Christmas bulbs for this upcoming year. These will replace the ones used last year and Brent Corey said, “These will also replace all the old bulbs in the Christmas Wreaths. Many which had blown out last year”. We are not going to announce the “Color” yet…you’ll just have to wait and WOW what a surprise!!

As another note, all memberships are current and the contact phone is also working if you wish to call.

Also you may wish to consider a membership to the Old Town Association. But hurry the cut off for membership is June 1st. As a member you can enjoy knowing that you are supporting the Old Town of Greenwood and the historic ambiance and beauty that is a part of Greenwood. You will also receive a newsletter, if you wish.

Street Fair - Great Event as Usual
The Old Town Association did a Bang of a job
oldtownass001005.gif
If you missed the Street fair or the fireworks...then shame on you !!! The event is growing every year and it requires a lot of prudent planning.
All this hard work pays off when people from all over the area come to share in the festivities. This is no longer just a Greenwood event and is part of an area event now.
Additionally Greenwood has shown good stewardship to all our visitors and that is partially why they continue to return, year after year.
  See ya next year !!!!

Special thanks to The Old Town Association for all the hard work.

Thanks,
