Internet web sites are interesting in a common fact. They are a necessary part of today’s society, and everyone who will spend about $10 bucks can register a domain. But what good is a domain or a new designed web site without traffic?
Most web sites that are high traffic sites get notices constantly about offering reciprocating link from other sites. That is how a lot of web sites get noticed on the web, and the chances of getting notices increases exponentially with a link from another site.
No high traffic web site will allow “Free url” advertising, or links without proper etiquette of reciprocating or more commonly paid compensation. Yet there is always those who try.
This site gets an average of probably 30 or 40 per request per month for links. Like most sites that have produced high traffic we request compensation. It is the way the Internet works and you wouldn’t expect a local TV station to give you free advertising, would you? Of course not, yet there is those who will always try the system.
Some will try to sneak a url link in a forum topic or maybe a printed comment letter. Others will come right out and ask if you would put a link to their site from your site. That’s really the more gullible ones, they will make no effort to place a link on their site to yours, but they want you to redirect your traffic away from your site to theirs.
The really, really gullible people that sneak urls on your site then get angry when you stop it are the worst of the lot. They like so many others these days think they are the only important issue and show no respect to you or your site.
Then we have the ones who try to use local issues to try to get FREE redirection away from your site to theirs. Their site is getting little or no traffic, and they want to be important and get their site noticed. Those who own high traffic sites need to watch out for these people.
Business hasn’t changes in hundreds of thousands of years, only the manner in which it practices its commerce. The Internet is a “today tool” for everyone and e-businesses are like any other business. When something starts working others try to jump on the gravy train. Small web sites start popping up, and the owners think they are Gods gift of intelligence, and they are the only ones that mater.
When you have a successful site with high traffic, the small owners will try to use you. Yet they will never acknowledge your site on their small web site, because that would redirect traffic. The very tool they are attempting to use on you! So just steer free of these and tolerate their rude remarks, because they will come.
You know how successful your e-site commerce is when others get upset when you “DO NOT” allow free redirection. So while you may get publicly ignored by some. Remember that you are the one that they are jealous of, and their anger is an approval of your actions. They wish to have what you have, a successful, high traffic and growing site.
