Woodgirls has hands full with Cathedral
Unversaw & rest of Team Steps up - But still gets loss 55-45

The Woodgirls had a great game and played quite well. However the absence of Dollens was evident. The Irish made better plays and did a much better job on the boards. The Woodgirls were a little fast on their decissions and did a few arrant passes. This resulted in turn oevers that they could not afford in this game.
Jamie Unversaw and the entire team stepped up play, but it was a tad lacking enough to win.
The Irish were just to strong to allow them to get inside. But they had no answer for the Irish.

Oh well............Indian Creek @ home the 28th........Lood out !!!!!!!

Home support was abundant all many of the boys Basketball team were there to support the Woodgirls. At least 7 or 8 of the team were present and probably a lot more. The AD Pete Huse and several parents along with the pep squad and the Cheerleaders were also present.

The Woodgirls played a fantastic game. Everyone was healthy and ready for the game except for #54 Brittany Mishler who had a sprained ACL from Saturday’s practice. It’s a good thing the Woodgirls were healthy because the Trojans were a little on the ruff side, more over the ref’s was allowing the ruff stuff. The first period ends with the Trojans leading 14-8.

The second began with a flurry of shots for the Woodgirls. The Trojans called for a quick time-out to get the heads straight on the Trojans team. While the Woodgirls played a good game the free throw line was not kind to our Woodgirls this night. The second ended with the Woodgirls trailing 31-21.

After the break the Woodgirls came out to play, the refs could be overheard many times telling the girls, ”easy-easy”. The refs must have decided that the game was getting a little to ruff. Overall the officials were calling a pretty even game and the Woodgirls held the game close many times. The third ended with the Woodgirls trailing by only 4 points with the score 30-35.

During the 4th period the game got a up and down and the score was see-sawing like a Microsoft stock market report. However the Trojans took over the Boards and the Woodgirls started failing in the defensive boards. The Trojans got many second & third chances, while holding the Woodgirls to only one shot most of the time. The pressure kept the Woodgirls on their heels and the shot selection was not the best. The hoop just wasn’t working for the Woodgirls. Also many free throws were allowed to slip away. The game ended with the Trojans winning 59-47.
